Well, it is hello world! Or at least one very small corner of it. I’ve spent some time trying to get this blog to look the way I want it to, and to work as I’d like. Finally I think I am nearly enough there to make it public. It’s still a work in progress, but then that’s the essence of blogging, to update regularly. That’s where I’ve fallen down in the past, not being consistent or regular enough. I’m determined that this will be different, since I’m serious about being a writer.
The intention behind this blog is firstly to practice writing, and secondly to have a showcase for my work, and hopefully raise my profile so that when I start seriously wanting to write for publication, I will be a little bit known.
I’m currently taking an online course on writing magazine articles, which is what I intend to do, but I wonder about the future of magazines. Like books, will they be replaced by electronic versions? I read recently that for every magazine which closes at least one more starts up, which is positive. Unfortunately now I can’t remember where I read it, and can’t find it in the history of my browser either. More organisation is required! Also, I guess even electronic media need somebody to write for them, you can’t just keep recycling the same stuff all the time.
Well, here goes, I’m about to make this public. Wish me luck!
Hi Julie,
Thankyou for providing a link to my PhotoBlog and I’d like to wish you luck in your Writing venture. You might like to drop back into my Blog and read the ‘quotes’ tab content – hopefully it will inspire you to follow your dream.
I started a writing blog having written for a couple of years on the Health forum I belonged to, but quickly ran out of ideas and energy (due to chronic ill health which had forced me to take early retirement).
I bought a little camera and started following my dream of being creative again and capturing the Natural World around me and it blossomed from there.
Best Wishes
Vicki (alias Victoria)
PS I had an Art & Fashion Design background from my school days some 40 years ago and this is the first time in my whole adult life that I have felt truly inspired to be creative again.
Thanks heaps for the good wishes Vicki
